Sulla piazza centrale del paese, sotto i portici che sorreggono la sala consiliare del Municipio di Gerocarne, c’è un piccolo salotto all’aperto, un punto di ritrovo sia dei grandi che dei più piccoli del paese. Qui i gerocarnesi trovano riparo dalla calura estiva o quando le temperature diventano più rigide per condividere un po’ di tempo prima di frammentarsi ognuno nelle proprie case, nelle proprie faccende, nei propri spazi.
Proprio qui, in una piazza nella piazza, in uno spazio intimo, riservato, Gerocarne ha accolto la pittura di G Loois, l’unico artista calabrese ospite della prima edizione del Nostoi Fest. Come a voler fare gli onori di casa, nel salotto del paese ha interpretato il tema del ritorno fondendo alcuni elementi che caratterizzano le sue rappresentazioni: materia e spettri luminosi.
G Loois su tutta la parete ha frammentato una porzione di materia in tanti piccoli asteroidi che sembrano volteggiare sotto i portici, mentre due spettri di luce, seppur dinamici nelle sfumature, rappresentano due punti fissi che evidenziano i differenti punti di osservazione: uno verticale e uno orizzontale, diversi ma entrambi visibili dagli archi che si affacciano sulla piazza.
Lo spazio e il tempo pare trovino una corrispondenza, rievocando tutti quei gerocarnesi che durante l’arco dell’anno si frammentano in altri dove, mutando nel tempo così come cambia il colore dello spettro luminoso per poi, periodicamente, ritrovarsi tra le vie del paese, al bar o sotto i portici per raccontarsi, per condividere e poi ritornare ognuno nelle proprie case, nelle proprie faccende, nei propri spazi. Nelle proprie vite. Un punto fermo nello spazio e nel tempo a cui fare sempre ritorno, Gerocarne.

In the central square of the village, under the arches that support the council chamber of the City Hall of Gerocarne, there is a small outdoor seating area, a meeting place for both adults and kids of the village. Here the gerocarnesi find shelter from the summer heat or, when temperatures become more rigid, share a bit of time before fragmenting each in their own homes, in their own affairs, in their own spaces.
Right here, in a square in the square, in an intimate space, reserved, Gerocarne accepted the painting of G Loois, the only Calabrian artist guest of the first edition of Nostoi Fest. As to want to do the honors, in the village's living room he has interpreted the theme of the return merging some elements that characterize his performances: matter and light spectra. G Loois on each part of the wall has fragmented a portion of matter into many small asteroids that seem to hover in the arcades, while two spectra of light, albeit dynamic shades, represent two fixed points that highlight the different points of view: one vertical and one horizontal, different but both visible from the arches that overlook the square.
Space and time seem to find a match, recalling all those people of Gerocarne that during the whole year are fragmented in different places. This changes over time as well as changes the color of the light spectrum and then, periodically, these people meet among the village streets, at the bar or in the arcades to tell and to share, and to then return each one to their own home, to their own affairs, to their own spaces, to their lives. A fixed point in space and time to where always return, Gerocarne.
